PSG and Kvaratskhelia's stance on transfer after Arsenal interest confirmed

Latest from Your Site News' Zinny Boswell:

Your Site News understands neither Khvicha Kvaratskhelia nor Paris Saint-Germain are contemplating a move for the forward this summer, as things stand.

Kvaratskhelia was amongst the list of players Arsenal are considering to strengthen their options on the left-wing this summer.

Newcastle's Anthony Gordon and Real Madrid forward Rodrygo are also potential candidates, as the Gunners look to invest in their starting line-up ahead of next season.

Arsenal will target top quality talent that can improve on their current options in the team.

On the left, Mikel Arteta has used a combination of either Eberechi Eze, Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard this season, and the position has continued to be under consideration for improvement by the head coach and sporting director Andrea Berta.

Central midfield is another priority, with Your Site News putting them in the mix for players like Sandro Tonali and Elliot Anderson, as well as full-back.

Kvaratskhelia and Gordon among Arsenal targets this summer

Latest from Your Site News' Lyall Thomas:

Khvicha Kvaratskhelia and Anthony Gordon are among the targets Arsenal are monitoring as they look to sign a left-winger this summer.

The Premier League leaders want to bring in top-quality players that can improve their starting options with left wing one of the positions manager Mikel Arteta and sporting director Andrea Berta have been focusing on.

Arsenal's most frequently used players on the left, Leandro Trossard and Gabriel Martinelli, only have one more year on their contracts after this season.

Arteta's side can expect to have a lot of competition for Paris Saint-Germain star Kvaratskhelia if he comes on the market, while Gordon has shone for Newcastle across the frontline since he arrived from Everton.

PSG only signed Kvaratskhelia last January and he has quickly established himself as one of their most important stars, playing a crucial role in last season's treble-winning campaign.

The Georgia international has three years left on his contract in Paris and the Qatari owners are under no financial pressure to sell him. Newcastle are in an even stronger position with Gordon's contract, which runs out in 2030.

Your Site Newsreported last summer that Rodrygo at Real Madrid is another player Arsenal have looked at for this position. However, the Brazil international is set to miss the rest of the season and World Cup with a serious knee injury.

Lewis-Skelly on Man Utd's list of transfer targets

Latest from Your Site News' Vik Varange, Dan Khan and Rob Dorsett:

Arsenals Myles Lewis-Skelly is on Manchester Uniteds list of potential left-back targets this summer, Your Site News understands.

On Wednesday, Your Site News revealed the likes of Newcastles Lewis Hall and Eintracht Frankfurts Nathaniel Brown are among those under consideration to strengthen the position.

Englands Lewis-Skelly who signed a new five-year contract at Arsenal last summer is also believed to be another potential part of Uniteds plans.

The 19-year-old is held in high regard at the Emirates, having been one of their best academy graduates in recent seasons, but he has only started one Premier League game all season.

Lewis-Skelly has started six times in the Champions League however, England manager Thomas Tuchel recently told him he needs more game-time if he is to make it into the World Cup squad.

Arsenal are looking to make additions to their squad too this summer targeting top players to improve their first eleven and they will need to sell some players in order to do so.

It remains to be seen who Arsenal receive bids for and willing to let go of but Lewis-Skelly would present 100 per cent profit on the balance sheet having come through the youth ranks.

As well as left-back, United are prioritising central midfield and left-wing; with the likes of Carlos Baleba, Elliot Anderson, Sandro Tonali, Yan Diomande and Iliman Ndiaye all being looked at closely.

'Real Madrid targeting midfielder - but it might not be Rodri'

Your Site News' Kaveh Solhekol:

"What Man City will try and do is have talks with his representatives and get him to agree to sign a new contract.

"He is such a key player for Man City, he is one of their best ever midfielders and one of the best we have ever seen play in this country.

"You do have to remember he has had a serious knee injury, which he has been recovering from. That is one of the reasons there haven't been in-depth talks about his extending his contract.

"It is interesting what he has had to say. It would've been easy to say he is on international duty and doesn't want to talk about his club future.

"He said what privately a lot of players would say. It is very difficult to turn down a big club like Real Madrid if they come in for you.

"We have to retain a sense of perspective. Just because Real Madrid may want a player does not mean they will get him.

"We do know they are interested in signing a new midfielder this summer.  I am sure Rodri is one of the players they will be looking at, they have also been linked with Enzo Fernandez and Moises Caicedo at Chelsea.

"They will have a lot of options. If I were a Man City fan, I wouldn't be getting too worried. I think Man City do want to keep him and quietly, they are probably pretty confident they will get him to sign a new deal."

Rodri comments on potential move to Real Madrid

Manchester City midfielder Rodri has admitted "you cannot turn down the best clubs in the world" when questioned about a potential move to Real Madrid in the future.

Spanish radio Onda Cero interviewed the Spain international and asked about his future at City, where his current contract expires in the summer of 2027.

Your Site News understands City want Rodri to stay and agree a new deal at the club.

Rodri continued: "I have a year left on my contract. There will come a point when well have to sit down and talk."

City are not commenting on Rodris interview, which was conducted as he prepares to face Serbia and Egypt in friendlies over the next two weeks.

Salah tipped to join top European club instead of moving to Saudi Arabia

Liverpools Mohamed Salah has been tipped to defy Saudi Arabian mega-bucks in order to extend his high-profile playing career at one of Europes top clubs.

The 33-year-old Salah announced this week that he will leave Liverpool at the end of the current season, with a move to the lucrative Saudi Pro League seen as his most likely option.

But former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher believes Salah is still driven enough to want to pursue more Champions League goals before eventually succumbing to the lure of Saudi Arabia or North Americas MLS.

Speaking on The Overlap podcast, Carragher said: I think Mo Salah, the way hes driven like a Ronaldo, I dont see the Saudi thing just yet.

I can see him in Italy with one of the giants. I just think your careers over when you go there [Saudi Arabia]. I think hell still be looking at his Champions League record or how many goals he can get.

I still think he thinks, Im still one of the best players, and me leaving now is not the end of my top-level career, Ive still got something to give.

Salah, who spent two seasons with Roma before his move to Anfield in 2017, has won one Champions League title with Liverpool and currently sits 11th on the all-time list of the competitions leading goalscorers.

According to Carragher, his Anfield record with 255 goals from 435 appearances to date ranks him sixth in the list of the clubs all-time greatest players, behind Kenny Dalglish, Steven Gerrard, Graeme Souness, Ian Rush and John Barnes.

Carragher, who slammed Salah as disgraceful following his mixed zone outburst after being left on the bench against Leeds last year, said his decision to leave with one year left on his existing contract is the right decision for everyone.

He added: In hindsight, could they have done this last summer? But how could you not give the best player in the Premier League a new contract last season. Its very difficult to say with hindsight. It probably happened a year earlier than we thought.

'Box-office Olise' the man to replace Salah, says Hargreaves

Bayern Munich forward Michael Olise is the player to replace Mo Salah at Liverpool next season, according to Owen Hargreaves.

Salah announced on Tuesday he would be leaving Anfield on a free transfer this summer, with reports claiming the Reds want to sign Olise for next season.

Hargreaves agrees that the France international, 24, who has 16 goals and 27 assists to his name in 39 games in all competitions this season, is the right fit to take on the near-impossible task of taking Salah's place on the righthand side of Liverpool's attack.

To replace Mo is going to be hard and cost a lot. You need somebody very special," the former Man Utd and Bayern midfielder told TNT Sports.

I think if youre Liverpool you have to go for ready, tried and tested, and for me that would be somebody of the calibre of Olise. If you are talking Olise on the right for Liverpool that is box office.

[PSGs Bradley] Barcola can play on the left and right. There is a young lad at Leipzig, [Yan] Diomande, he is only 19, he leaves people for dead.

Steven Gerrard, meanwhile, says Liverpool must target a "box-office" signing, with the former Reds captain naming two potential targets.

Liverpool will probably look for more one v one merchants who can go on the outside, said Gerrard.

At times this season, certainly when they had that spell when they were quite inconsistent, they were too predictable on the sides.

"And the way this manager [Arne Slot] wants to play is work it side to side to set the one v ones up. They have missed [Luis] Diaz a lot. I would say we need to address the sides of the pitch.

I would be very surprised if they are not in the market for these types of players because you have to buy someone who is box office or else you are not replacing him.

"They have to be top end, top three or four wingers in the world, to replace Mo Salah, because that is what he has been.

I like [West Ham's Crysencio] Summerville," said Gerrard. "He is brilliant in one v ones, he looks hungry. In a team that has struggled he has been a shining light and got better as the season has gone on.

I really like [West Ham's Jarrod] Bowen and think he is a top player but I am not sure he is Salahs level to replace him.

Maguire confident of securing new Manchester United deal

Harry Maguire is confident of agreeing a new deal with Manchester United, but the England defender stressed he would not want to stay at the club just for sentimental reasons.

The 33-year-old has been an ever-present since Michael Carrick took charge in January, with the centre-back helping the side rise to third in the Premier League and earning an international recall in the process.

Maguire is part of Thomas Tuchels final squad before he makes his selection for the World Cup, where his United contract is due to expire midway through the tournament.

I think theres been talks, Maguire said of his Man Utd future. I think well reach an agreement where its best for the club and myself.

What that agreement is, Im sure youll find out over the next few weeks. But, yeah, I think itll get sorted sooner rather than later, whether I stay or leave. But I think it will it should get sorted pretty soon.

Put to him United appears to be in his heart, he said: Yeah, I love this club. But its got to be right for myself, its got to be right for the club as well.

I dont want to be staying on a sentimental value. I want to be staying because I want to be there and the club want me to drive the club forward still, and they feel like Ive got a big part to play in it.

And if thats the case, then Im sure well sit down and reach something.
